The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Defense has announced that the MASAF-2 rifle has passed all tests. It will be the new standard rifle for the Iranian army, replacing the H&K G3. The MASAF-2 has a caliber of 7.62×51.

At first glance, the weapon bears a striking resemblance to an American LWRCI, which is interesting because the 5.56 variant of the MASAF is likely a clone of the HK416. In the image above, you can also see an AN/PEQ15 laser box, similar to those used by the US Army. Unfortunately, we do not know if the Iranians have also cloned it, or if it is more likely just a well-made Airsoft item.
