The P14 and its compact variant, the P14K, are new pistols introduced by WALTER for special forces, featuring exceptional ergonomics and advanced technology. The Performance Duty Trigger and compensator enhance accuracy, making them ideal for rapid-fire sequences. These firearms promise to be reliable tools for military operations.
Every first time is something special: How will it feel? Will it hit the mark? And how do you lead it when it comes? Even more stressful is such a pivotal experience when there are quite a few people around who probably know better. Well, of course, we are talking about the first shot of a new pistol: at the TEUTODEFENCE Government Days 2026, WALTER brought what’s inside the Special Forces pistol system. There were also a few targets, filled magazines, both pistols, the P14 and the P14 K of the KSK – and many types around us who shoot professionally and surely hit better …

There it is, the P14. A magnificent device that is being procured for the special forces with about 3,200 units, a 4.5-inch barrel (5.1-inch barrel with muzzle thread), and a Flat Dark Earth (FDE) color. The compact P14K comes with 3,300 units, has a 4-inch barrel, and is gray in color. The device is given to the KSK, the KSM, and the specialized forces of the field soldiers.

The first thing you feel with a weapon is the grip. This one is quite extraordinary. You take the P14 in your hand – and it feels like it was made for this hand. This is quite amazing.

For a distraction, something not from WALTER. Visually, one naturally opts for a red dot, and here for the ACRO-P2 from AIMPOINT, the gold standard among red dots. It does its job excellently together with suppressor sights.

The deciding factor is always the trigger: WALTHER relies on the Performance Duty Trigger with about 2,200 grams of trigger weight. By the way: the weapon inside is not identical to the PDP, even if it looks like it on the outside. The military requirements have led to a more durable system, no wonder given the job that special forces have to do. Only the best for the best.

At the front, a compensator. If you’ve never shot with one, it works wonders. The “Comp” reduces the muzzle rise of the weapon; you stay on target even with rapid fire sequences, we can tell you.

By the way: We all know that some just lie when they say it doesn’t matter about the size. For the extensive weapon set P14 in the Special Forces pistol system, there is also the long slide. To put it quite casually, the “34” from the P14.

Who would be a more worthy companion for the first time with the P14 than KSK legend Hermann “Rosi” Rosenberg? He himself is completely enthusiastic about the P14 and had some good soldier tips for shooting ready for many shooters.

This is the smaller companion, the short version of the P14, the P14K. It is intended primarily for use in personal protection or entry searches; the smaller design is more suitable for covert operations.

And what can one say: even without the Comp, this pistol shoots wonderfully. WALTER has achieved great things; the German special forces can really look forward to a first-class working tool that will surely attract a lot of international attention. HERE you can find all the information about the P14 and P14K.
