From Israel comes a sniper rifle from Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) with the friendly name Dan .338. It was first introduced in 2014 and comes in the Lapua Magnum caliber, as the name suggests. Until now, it was only available for government agencies, but now it should also be available to the civilian market.
The weapon was developed in collaboration with snipers from the Israel Defense Force (IDF) and is accordingly popular among them. The British SAS has also adopted and used the Dan .338. In contrast to some other models, it does offer some special advantages. For example, the barrel is naturally free-floating. A suppressor can be quickly attached. This rifle can be easily used by both left and right-handed shooters. The body is made of aluminum, and the rifle weighs just under seven kilograms. The barrel can be quickly and easily changed if needed, without any special tools. The stock also offers several adjustment options: depth, height, and a monopod for stabilization.
It can also be completely folded if needed. Repetition would then no longer be possible, but another shot could still be fired.
The top is equipped with a continuous RIS system. On the side, there are mounts for M-LOK. If you would like to learn more, HERE is a link directly to the brochure at IWI, and HERE is a link to the product page.
