HHA Covert 01 Folding Knife

The overall length when opened is 222 mm. 

The 98 mm long and 3 mm thick blade of the COVERT 01 is made from CPM S35VN (59–60 HRC). The spear-point shaped blade features a double bevel and a partially serrated edge that extends halfway along the blade. 

The integrated partial serration (Serrated Edge) is designed to cut through straps or ropes.

The COVERT 01 also has a solid bite even without the partial serration. Thanks to its flat grind, it cuts through rope effortlessly.

The coating of the blade of this COVERT 01 is achieved through PVD processes, while sandblasting represents another processing step. The PVD coating (Physical Vapour Deposition) is an eco-friendly coating process that applies layers to materials. It improves wear resistance, corrosion protection, and aesthetics of components and tools. HARDWARE AUSTRALIA (HHA) also offers bead-blasted blades for the COVERT 01.

The handle, made from 3D-milled G10 material, ensures a secure grip. At the end of the handle, there is a hole designed for a lanyard.

The COVERT 01 comes with a robust stainless steel pocket clip. 

This can be adjusted so that the knife can be carried tip-down in either the left or right hand. The G10 handle scales are milled on both sides to accommodate the clip. Two spare screws are included in the package.

The discreet carry design and tip-down carry option of the COVERT 01 ensure inconspicuous carrying. The stainless steel clip provides secure storage of the knife in the pocket.

The knife features ambidextrous thumb studs for opening. 

These are easily reachable without being in the way, and also serve as an outer stop pin. 

The blade glides into a secure liner lock mechanism, which is perfectly centered in this model. 

Notably, the balance of the blade is excellent both when opening and after that. 

The knife is equipped with a liner lock mechanism that has an external safety feature in the form of the so-called “Roto-Locks” (slide lock). 

The locking mechanism automatically clicks into place once the fingers grip into the deep handle recesses and feel the texture. Although the liner lock and the Roto-Lock are made of relatively thin 420J2 steel, they still feel solid and reliable. 

With a handle length of 124 mm, it provides ample space for large hands. One might think that this would be noticeable in the pocket, but the 126 grams feel extremely light in the hand and hardly weigh down the pocket.
