Corvus Defense: Micro huckepack on Trijicon

The Corvus Defensio Aimpoint Micro Mount fulfills a wish we have long nurtured. In terms of optic systems for assault rifles and semi-automatic long guns, we have long been convinced of so-called "piggyback" solutions for various reasons. Because in the absolute close range, in the entire spectrum of lighting conditions, a classic red dot sight without magnification - preferably also parallax-free - is irreplaceable, modern rifles in the sports and military sector hardly work without these sights. But in both areas, these weapons can also be effectively used up to 500 meters.

However, magnifying optics are more advantageous in this scenario (and also in the area of target identification at closer ranges). One approach is the use of variable magnification optics, which usually magnify from 1-3 times to 1-10 times and can be used like a red dot sight at a simple magnification. However, the downside of these systems is usually that even at a simple magnification, targeting still needs to be done through an optical lens system, which includes effects like exit pupil, correct eye distance, sometimes slight distortions, and the so-called "eye box" (the image is only visible in a limited area). Furthermore, every time the magnification needs to be adjusted, the support hand must be taken off the weapon to operate some lever.
