In Austria, there is now a compulsory mask requirement for everyone when shopping or using public transportation. This has created a very high demand for protective masks, and the Austrian Armed Forces (ÖBH) needs them for their assistance mission. To prevent shortages, the military is simply sewing them themselves.

Here the military at work. The mouth-nose masks are being produced at the Army Clothing Institute in Brunn am Gebirge. Normally, uniforms are sewn and altered here.

The raw material used is cotton fabric in the new desert camouflage print of the ÖBH – HERE we reported on it.

Small changes are incorporated based on the initial feedback from the troops and then the production continues.

A mask in the new design being sewn. Some of the employees of the large military facility are also busy sewing at home on weekends.

Once again, a few masks are ready to be distributed to the troops.
