The Combat Challenge Jasna of the TACTICAL COMBAT ACADEMY took place in September for the third time. We were there and faced the challenge like the other 120 participants. HERE is the first part of our report.

Sunday – The second and final competition day

Warm-ups took place before the stages. The closer the start time got, the greater the nervousness became.

Stage 7 - Strength and Balance: A heavy dummy had to be hoisted onto a table. After that, it was time to put on the backpack, balance over logs, and fight targets.

Stage 8 - The Trench: A classic! The start was again at the container from which participants had to rappel down. After overcoming an obstacle, they headed down into the trench. There, various targets had to be fought as quickly as possible, and found grenades had to be thrown into the target marking. Fortunately, the trench remained dry this year.

Stage 9 - Obstacles and Loads: Now it became more athletic. Climbing onto a truck bed, throwing grenades, and fighting targets were on the agenda. Then it was back down again. A ammo box and oneself had to pass under a low obstacle before further targets were fought. Some participants ended up with bruises.

Stage 10 - The most athletic stage? From the truck bed of a pickup, targets had to be fought. After that, it was necessary to hit further targets in two stages and carry loads, which had to be placed on an elevated shelving area afterward. The finale was the foreign weapon VZ 58. Participants were to shoot at two steel poppers that were about 100 meters away with iron sights.

Stage 11 - The Vehicle Course: The penultimate stage went through a course with numerous cars. Here too, boxes had to be dragged, targets fought from a distance, and finally, a foreign weapon had to be operated.

Stage 12 - Bunkers and Shotguns: In the final stage, participants had to memorize number combinations, go through a bunker, and correctly fight the targets. Then it went deeper into the bunker, where steel plates had to be taken down with various shotguns - including a pump-action shotgun and a semi-automatic Beretta 1301. Some were less satisfied with their performance on the stages.

Afterwards, it was accomplished and time to rest. In the lounge chairs, one could soak up the sun and relax. Those still hungry could grab some chili for lunch or visit the exhibitors as a pastime.

Awards Ceremony and Conclusion

In the early evening, the grand awards ceremony followed. There were prizes for the top participants of each stage as well. The best on Stage 12, for example, was able to take home a Beretta 1301 shotgun. A CZ pistol and many other attractive prizes awaited the stage winners. However, those who were not present at the awards ceremony went home empty-handed when their name was called.

Next, the winners of the respective divisions were honored. In addition to the top three, the fourth and fifth place winners also received prizes. The high-quality equipment was impressive: Among other things, there were lamps from SureFire, plate carriers from Frog.Pro, a pistol from CZ, and much more.

To our surprise, we secured third place in the Heavy Division! Thanks to the live scoreboard, it was particularly exciting to track our standings. With each recorded result, we moved further up. Only when the times of the remaining shooters were also accurately recorded did the final result become clear.

We are pleased that the Combat Challenge Jasna of the TCA now takes place annually, is growing, and is continually developing. The improved organization, the more consistent execution of the blind stages, and the varied, demanding tasks show that the competition is continuously improving. Additionally, you always find new and old friends at competitions! HERE is the first part of the report.

Next year again!
