The Combat Challenge Jasna 2026 – Part 1

The Combat Challenge Jasna, held by the Tactical Combat Academy, drew around 120 participants in September. This year's event featured a new location and emphasized a random squad assignment for a fair competition. Participants faced twelve challenging stages over two days, including shooting scenarios and a welcome BBQ with a raffle.

The Combat Challenge Jasna of the TACTICAL COMBAT ACADEMY took place for the third time in September. Around 120 participants once again accepted the challenge to prove their skills.

The tried and tested schedule remained: Friday was the arrival day. Under radiant sunshine, we made our way to the new location of the competition. The new building offered more space for the headquarter!

After registration, participants received the first important information, including assignment to a random squad of five participants each. Unlike before, this allocation was done randomly. There was also a patch with squad and participant numbers. A schedule on the table clearly showed when and where participants had to compete on the first and second day. This was intended to minimize delays.

A goodie bag and catering were also impressive. We were immediately offered something to drink. A coffee was gratefully accepted.

The goodie bag contained patches, stickers, a T-shirt, a cap, vouchers, information cards, a thermos, and an aluminum mug. Particularly important: the raffle tickets!

On Friday evening, the welcome party with a buffet took place. A tradition for us: at the Combat Challenge Jasna, it's encouraged to eat well and plentifully.

Afterwards, Gabo and Ondrej welcomed the participants and went over the important times for the next day once more.

Saturday - The First Competition Day

Upon arriving at the range, a banner immediately caught the eye, marking all bays and thus the stages. In total, twelve stages spread over two days awaited the participants. The variety of different targets was also on display again.

The event kicked off with a briefing for all participants. Along with the final safety instructions, it was emphasized once more that filming and photographing on the stages is prohibited. Since these are blind stages, participants should not exchange possible solutions among themselves. Together with the randomly assembled squads, this resulted in an interesting concept.

Gabo explained the targets and their shooting rules: unless otherwise specified, each target had to be hit three times. A pistol meant red, a rifle blue. Photo targets had to be recognized and addressed according to the threat situation.

Stage 1 - Medic Stage: A dummy had to be rescued from the scenario and treated according to the specifications.

Stage 2 - NVG Stage: Shooting was done with an airsoft gun in a darkened hut. Night Gear Solution provided participants with night vision devices (NVGs) to wear. Actively targeting was done with a laser box. Anyone who activated the white light received a penalty.

Stage 3 - Building Assault: As seen in the photo, one had to climb into a building via a rope. Inside, a ballistic shield and an FX pistol awaited. In the building, it was necessary to find and neutralize an active shooter.

From Stage 4 onwards, the competition continued with live ammunition.

Stage 4 - Gas Station: In this fictional scenario, one had to defend oneself against attackers in a gas station restroom. The shooting course combined rifle and pistol with targets that were easy to overlook.

Stage 5 - Running Course and Injury Scenario: First, two tank mines had to be quickly brought back to the stage over a running course. This was followed by a course with rifle and pistol. Meanwhile, the RO informed about a fictional injury that needed to be treated.

Stage 6 - Hostage Taker Scenario: Here, accuracy as well as a clear head and the correct order in combating the targets were required.

Since the participants were only occupied for half a day, there was a break for lunch. Delicious goulash satisfied our hunger.

Several exhibitors and sponsors were also present with their own stands. From weapons and NVGs to snacks and various equipment, there was much to discover and purchase. Some prices were even lower than those online. Shopping could be done in good conscience!

Saturday Evening - BBQ and Raffle

In the evening, a BBQ with buffet was organized. Besides delicious grilled foods, there were various drinks, and the beer flowed in streams.

Ondrej took over the raffle and announced the winning tickets before distributing the prizes from numerous sponsors. The selection ranged from small items like umbrellas to high-quality equipment, such as a plate carrier from Frog.Pro. The beautiful caliber collector card from Sellier & Bellot was also among the prizes. There was plenty to win!

This concludes the first part of our report. The second part will follow!
