Bundswehr uniforms to the museum

As part of the current special exhibition "Garrison City Erding - Wehrmacht. Americans. Bundeswehr. Asylum Waiting Room. Conversion. 80 years of Fliegerhorst Erding," the Museum Erding is showing a two-week thematic supplementary exhibition on the development of Bundeswehr uniforms over the past 60 years.

Under the title "Clothing of the Bundeswehr in the Course of Time - from the 'Filzlaus' to the Hightech-Uniform," the Wehrwissenschaftliche Institut für Werk- und Betriebsstoffe (WIWeB, Erding) will exhibit uniforms and equipment from the founding of the Bundeswehr to the present from June 29, 2017 to July 16, 2017. In addition, the exhibition provides insights into the scientific investigation of textiles and current research, such as on so-called Smart Textiles, through multimedia stations and table displays.Original camouflage, field, and work clothing from the 1950s and 1960s will be on display, as well as a pilot rescue inflatable boat and a windproof pilot jumpsuit. Additionally, combat clothing (combat suits) in desert camouflage, 3-color camouflage, multi-camouflage, and a snow camouflage suit for mountain troops will be impressively presented next to a protective vest for the infantry in the foyer.

The supplementary exhibition can be visited during the regular opening hours of the Museum Erding (Tuesday to Sunday from 1-5 pm).
