Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles continues the success story with the logistical vehicles for the Bundeswehr. As part of an event in Munich, the CEO of Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH, Michael Wittlinger, and the CEO of Rheinmetall AG, Armin Papperger, officially handed over the key for the new generation of swap body systems to the German armed forces - represented by the commander of the logistics command and General of Bundeswehr Logistics, Major General Gerald Funke, Brigadier General Frank Schmitz, the head of planning at the Armed Forces Base Command and Brigadier General Dr. Thomas Czirwitzky as a representative of the Army development office.
At the same time, the handover of the 3,000th unit of the Unprotected Transport Vehicles to the Bundeswehr was celebrated. The presence of other high-ranking visitors from politics, the Bundeswehr, and partner companies underscored the fact that the logistical vehicles are a flagship project in which politics, armed forces, and industry collaborate successfully. Among the attendees at the event were the Bavarian State Minister of the Interior, Joachim Herrmann, Members of the German Bundestag Henning Otte and Karsten Klein, as well as Bernhard Loos from the Bundestag's Committee on Economic Affairs.
Both the swap body systems and the Unprotected Transport Vehicles are based on the robust HX vehicle family of RMMV. Designed for military use from the outset, they are characterized by high mobility even in rough terrain. The widespread use of the HX vehicle family worldwide brings significant advantages in terms of interoperability and logistics for multinational operations. Currently, countries like Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Hungary, and Denmark are part of the user community. RMMV aims to continue the success story of the logistical vehicle projects together with the Bundeswehr and partner armed forces that also use the proven HX vehicles.
