Bridge laying system ANACONDA on the FIREmobil

09/14/2023By Redaktion

The new bridge layer HX ANACONDA from Rheinmetall can be seen from September 14th to 16th, 2023 during the FIREmobil fair in Welzow, Brandenburg. The exhibition and showcase bring together users and decision-makers from the fields of crisis and disaster management. Rheinmetall presents the bridge laying system as a solution for civil-military cooperation in crisis situations and disasters.

The bridge layer consists of the Anaconda bridging system from General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) and a HX 8x8 carrier vehicle from Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV). An optionally protected 10x10 variant is expected to expand the portfolio in the future, allowing for high-risk operations, such as in areas contaminated with explosives.

Developed to the high standards of military requirements, the bridge layer is suitable for rapid deployment on its own axis. It is capable of quickly and efficiently constructing temporary bridges over obstacles such as rivers, ditches, or destroyed roads – even in rough terrain. The HX ANACONDA replaces destroyed or weakened crossings with its robust 22-meter bridge or an equally qualified 2x12-meter variant from GDELS. It can handle loads up to modern battle tanks, making it reliably suitable for deployment forces and heavy equipment of any kind.

Visitors have the opportunity to view the system up close and be convinced of its numerous advantages and applications. In addition, other HX vehicles will be presented statically and dynamically, including the excavator variant in cooperation with CSM Industry. A TG-mil 8x8 is used in the area of militarized logistics trucks.
