Anyone who wants to go on vacation needs a travel guide. Lonely Planet is a good choice. Anyone who wants to travel to a foreign country with their military needs something similar. The Marine Corps intelligence service created a "North Korea Country Handbook" over 20 years ago.

In a way, Marine infantrymen and tourists have something in common - they are both interested in the best beaches. And the Marines are also interested in what lies behind them. Only here, it's more about the military than the country's culture. Overall, a very interesting read, and since North Korea is notoriously conservative, not much has changed.
