This book could fill years of fitness literature: "The U.S. Navy SEAL Guide to Fitness and Nutrition" is a 496-page book that covers everything you need to know about fitness and nutrition. It is clear that nutrition is the basis of fitness and you can start with that and then move on to fitness.

It describes what to expect in training oriented towards operations and how to achieve the goal. However - and this "however" must be taken into account with this excellent book: very good English skills are required for this book, as it contains many technical terms. Secondly, it does not hold the reader's hand lightly, it informs excellently, but the exercises are sparsely illustrated with drawings. If you want light reading, you have to buy the fitness books with colorful pictures. For everyone else: There is hardly a fitness book with a better price/performance ratio.

"The U.S. Navy Seal Guide to Fitness and Nutrition" is a 496-page book published in 2007 by Skyhorse Publishing. The book costs €13.99 on Amazon. There is also a version of this book available as an App for the iPad for €1.59.
