Scholzen KSKThe KSK is working hard on its public image and accordingly there is more to read. Reinhard Scholzen, on the other hand, seems determined to work through the entire Bundeswehr. This all comes together in his new book "KSK - Bilder einer Elitetruppe" (KSK - Images of an Elite Troop). If you expect a picture book, you will actually be rewarded with quite a bit of text (on the image level much better and more coherent: Speed-Action-Surprise The Special Forces Command). Even though the book doesn't quite look like a modern publication, it does contain a variety of exciting information for the layman and you can see a lot of equipment in the pictures. The image level itself is diffuse, with very good images alongside slightly blurry ones, a hodgepodge with all strengths and weaknesses. Scholzen's approach to the topic provides an interesting book that can be quite informative to look at. Perhaps a bit symbolically though, the cover of the book doesn't look as nice as it does digitally here: in print, it is noticeably washed out.

"KSK: Bilder einer Elitetruppe" by Reinhard Scholzen, Motorbuch Verlag, 2013, 176 pages. The book is available at bookstores or on Amazon for Euro 29.90.
