Nobody can deny that Toyota vehicles are reliable, affordable, and readily available. And furthermore, these Japanese cars are vehicles of war - as the images from around the world confirm, perhaps not in the interest of the car company itself.

In fact, in the late 1980s, there was even a "Toyota War" between Libya and Chad, named after the Toyota Hilux and Toyota LandCruiser, which were chosen by the Chadians for their durability and mobility in combat.

And where can you see the best images of the Toyota horde? Chris, 26, has made it his life's mission to document the use of Toyotas in combat on his Instagram page @ToyotasofWar.

"During my work for an arms company that produced Toyotas, I was obsessed with gathering as much information as possible about these vehicles," Chris told Military Times. "Part of this process was compiling photos that I had collected. Over time, the page evolved into a way for the guys and girls to share their own photos and stories of trucks in action."

His fascination with the history of vehicles is the reason for the feed, which he considers a kind of photojournalism. Chris puts together the photos and archives their unique stories. HERE you can find "Toyotas of War" on Instagram.
