In times of global challenges, partners in industry and armed forces on both sides of the Atlantic are coming closer together. From October 14 to 16, 2019, Rheinmetall will be presenting a part of its extensive activities and products at the Annual Meeting & Exposition of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA 2019) in Washington D.C. addressing three areas of its technologies for the Armed Forces of the Future: robotics and autonomous vehicles, future weapon systems, and soldier systems.

Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and networking capabilities are already changing the battlefield of the future. Together with its partner Raytheon, Rheinmetall is proposing the Lynx KF41 as the future Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV) to the U.S. Army. CLICK HERE for the LYNX at RHEINMETALL.

The combat vehicles of the future will be accompanied by unmanned platforms. Rheinmetall is one of the world's leading providers of tactical robotic platforms with remote-controlled, semi-autonomous, and autonomous capabilities. At AUSA, Rheinmetall is presenting its Wiesel Wingman concept, which aims at the U.S. Army's Robotic Combat Vehicle – Light project. The Wiesel Wingman concept combines a fully digitalized weapon carrier Wiesel with the autonomous capabilities of the unmanned Mission Master UGV, creating a highly effective robotic vehicle system.

High effectiveness, airburst technology, and networking capabilities characterize the weapons systems of the future. Rheinmetall is showcasing its concept for a future main battle tank armament, a 130mm smoothbore gun with automatic loader at AUSA. The company is also providing information on its innovative 40mm ammunition systems including modern airburst and fire control technology, such as projects XM1166 and XM1176 or the Rheinmetall Precision Aiming Laser and the MK93 mount. Modern 30mm and 50mm medium caliber ammunition and artillery ammunition are also in focus.

When it comes to the digitization of the armed forces, Rheinmetall sets particularly high standards with its expertise as a systems house for soldier systems, sensors, effectors, networking, and C4I systems. The high-technology company for security and mobility is expanding its leading position in soldier systems with solutions like Gladius 2.0 – HERE we have taken a look at a possible configuration – or Argus New Generation. At AUSA, Rheinmetall is also demonstrating its expertise in simulation systems. The simulator for Rheinmetall's medium caliber turret Lance is on display.

Another area of focus is Rheinmetall's comprehensive expertise in modern protection technologies. Visitors to AUSA can learn about the new Hybrid Protection Module, the active protection system ADS/Strike Shield, and the Rapid Obscuring System ROSY at the Rheinmetall booth.
