To Ukraine! NORARMS is leaving

NORARMS announces a pause in operations as the owner heads to Ukraine to provide support amid the ongoing crisis. The decision is driven by personal connections and a desire to help in the humanitarian and logistical aspects.

NORARMS makes good gear. And for now, they are pausing. The owner, a Norwegian with Kurdish roots who also volunteered with the Peshmerga to fight against the Islamic State, is going to Ukraine to help, also because he has friends there. Here is the full statement from NORARMS:

Important Announcement. In one week, on April 15th, we will be closing our entire operation and website for an unknown period of time (we will also have longer processing times for orders next week, but all orders placed before April 15th will be fulfilled).

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this will cause, and believe us when we say that the decision was not taken lightly, as we are experiencing great momentum, have several reorders planned in the coming months, and new products in development. The reason for this step is the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. A few weeks ago, we decided that our CEO will travel there to provide any possible support on behalf of the company. Things also took a personal turn when @cossackgundi (Instagram), a good friend of our CEO, was besieged by Russian forces in Mariupol. The city has been without electricity, water, and gas for weeks, and has been bombed to rubble. The indiscriminate bombing and shelling of Mariupol is nothing short of a war crime, and it is impossible to stand by and watch the horror unfold when you know your friend is inside and going through hell.

NorArm Tactical's contribution will likely be of a humanitarian and logistical nature, as we have already spoken to people on the ground before the invasion and identified their needs. We will try to document parts of our journey on social media, if the security situation allows, also on our CEO's personal Instagram account, @peshmerganor, as we believe our followers deserve to know why we are taking the extreme step of closing our business, even though the demand for our products at home is so high. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. But the world is not saved by a 'Like' and 'Share.' Sometimes you have to act. We hope you understand, and we hope to be back in business sometime this summer. Thank you!

Best regards, Milan and Thomas.

A Norwegian foreign fighter in our Kandahar combat uniform somewhere in Ukraine. Like so many others, we are shocked and outraged by the recent news of war crimes in Buka. Here at NORARMS, we made a decision on a more direct form of support shortly after the Russian invasion in February.
