How tactical is the new APPLE Watch Ultra?

09/09/2022By Redaktion

Apple has just introduced the new Apple Watch Ultra. Until now, Apple watches have been more like a smartphone for your wrist, not necessarily something you would take into rough conditions, but with the specifications of the new watch, that may change.

According to the manufacturer, the watch is waterproof up to 100 meters, which should not be a problem for dives up to 40 meters deep. It should also be possible to upgrade it to a full-fledged dive computer with a suitable app, thanks to the EN 13319 standard.

The case is made of titanium and a 49 mm sapphire glass display makes everything easy to read. Of course, the new Apple Watch Ultra also offers GPS reception, an altimeter, and all the other features you are used to. And practical apps that can expand its capabilities...

With this watch, Apple is moving away from the reputation of being "fragile" wrist jewelry towards a full-fledged GPS outdoor watch, similar to what you would expect from GARMIN. Whether the Ultra can really prove itself in real-world use remains to be seen, as the new Apple outdoor watch will only be available on the market from September 23.

If you are already convinced, you can PRE-ORDER the Apple Watch Ultra for around 1,000 euros here.
