COBBS Industries BV is developing the Netherlands' first specialized anti-drone protection system for PzH 2000NL howitzers as part of a Ministry of Defense initiative. This move addresses the rising threat from small drones targeting artillery units, emphasizing the need for standardized and permanent defense solutions for modern artillery platforms.
The Dutch company COBBS Industries BV is developing the first specialized anti-drone protection system in the Netherlands for PzH 2000NL howitzers as part of a Ministry of Defense program to protect artillery equipment.
The company's engineers point out that the initiative was launched in response to the growing global threat to artillery units from small unmanned aerial systems and FPV kamikaze drones, which are increasingly targeting high-value equipment both during transport and in firing positions.
With the transition from improvised “grill-style” protective cages to sophisticated, purpose-built solutions, COBBS Industries BV signals that drone defense is no longer an emergency measure, but a capability that requires standardized, permanent, and mass-produced systems for all modern artillery platforms.
