AIMPOINT has been awarded a seven-year framework contract for the British Armed Forces under the SWESS program (Support Weapons Enhanced Sighting Systems) through its exclusive UK distributor, Edgar Brothers.
AIMPOINT will deliver both the FCS13-RE Fire Control System with TH-60 Thermal Clip-on for the SWESS-Heavy Mature project, as well as the CompM4 sight in combination with ballistically adjustable mounts and 3X Magnifier for the SWESS-Light Battlesight project.
The FCS13-RE is a dynamic universal reflex sight with direct view that utilizes an integrated laser rangefinder and ballistic computer to provide the shooter with a point of aim that adjusts based on distance, type of ammunition, terrain angle, and environmental conditions. In addition to the 84mm Carl Gustaf launcher, the system can also be used with other weapons, including 40mm grenade launchers and heavy 12.7mm machine guns (.50 caliber). The FCS13-RE offers a very high probability of first-round hits on both stationary and moving targets at long range and features a very intuitive user interface. The system can be expanded with modular magnification and thermal imaging components and is compatible with all generations of military night vision devices. More information about the FCS13-RE at AIMPOINT.
The CompM4 is a combat-proven sighting solution for light and medium machine guns in calibers 5.56mm and 7.62mm when combined with the SPUHR Ballistic Adjustable Mount (BAM) and the 3X Mag-1. This configuration allows for mechanical compensation of bullet drop at different distances and combines the advantages of a rugged red dot sight with magnification for engagements at longer ranges.
