Aimpoint has received a new contract to deliver the Aimpoint® FCS13RE fire control system to the US military. The system is currently being used as the primary fire control system for the M3E1 MAAWS light 84mm Carl-Gustaf from SAAB Dynamics, which is used by the U.S. Army, the U.S. Marine Corps, and the U.S. Special Operations Command.
The FCS13RE is a dynamic universal reflex sight with direct view that uses an integrated laser rangefinder and ballistic computer to provide the gunner with a point of aim that is corrected based on distance, type of ammunition, terrain angle, and environmental conditions. In addition to the 84mm Carl-Gustaf, the system can also be used for other weapons, including the AT4, 40mm high-speed grenade launchers (Mk19, Mk47, and GMG), .50 caliber heavy machine guns (M2), and the Minigun M134D. The FCS13RE offers an extremely high first-round hit probability on stationary and moving targets day and night. The system can be expanded with a magnifier and a thermal imaging device, and is compatible with all generations of military night vision devices. Watch the FCS Series in the video during field testing.
