ECOS Technology focuses on secure communication in the security and defense industry, highlighting the importance of secure access to sensitive data. Relying on market-available solutions like the SecureBootStick and SecureConferenceCenter for VS-NfD-compliant remote access and video conferences, ECOS Technology addresses the increasing demand for secure communication processes in the changing threat landscape. The company's offerings provide secure, flexible, and cost-effective solutions for partners in the wider defense industry environment.
The German IT security manufacturer ECOS Technology is focusing on secure communication in the security and defense industry at this year's AFCEA trade fair.
Currently, ECOS is highlighting partners and suppliers, well beyond the Bundeswehr and directly related companies. Given the changing threat situation, partners in the wider environment are often faced with the challenge of securing access to sensitive data. This includes remote work scenarios or video conferences in consideration of required levels of confidentiality such as VS-NfD, EU, and NATO restricted.
"Defense Minister Boris Pistorius emphasized in April in the Digital Committee of the German Bundestag that the 'turning point' requires significant investments in cybersecurity. The importance of secure communication processes is also highlighted by current cyber attacks and eavesdropping cases. From our perspective, data access should play a central role," explains Gerald Richter, Managing Director of ECOS Technology GmbH. "In projects, we are currently experiencing increasing demand for solutions for a VS-NfD-compliant remote access or highly secure video conferences from suppliers, subcontractors, and partners in the wider environment of the Bundeswehr and the security and defense industry. This often involves companies that have had little contact with the topic so far. Companies are looking for solutions that are not only secure and flexible to use but also economically feasible and, above all, available and quickly usable."
ECOS Technology offers market-available and proven solutions for secure remote access and video conferences with the SecureBootStick and the SecureConferenceCenter.
The ECOS SecureBootStick is used for secure remote access to sensitive data regardless of location and has approval from the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for the confidentiality levels VS-NfD, EU, and NATO restricted. The special technology ensures the establishment of a highly secure connection when the stick is plugged in, completely independent of other software on the used computer. This allows the use of private PCs and notebooks, increases flexibility, and helps reduce costs and administrative effort. Depending on the variant, the SecureBootStick has a card slot for PKI cards and service IDs in ID-1 format, making it compatible with the Bundeswehr ID card.

In combination with the SecureBootStick, ECOS SecureConferenceCenter also enables highly secure VS-NfD video conferences. An additional advantage for the special requirements in the Bundeswehr and security and defense industry environment is that there is no need to rely on cloud solutions. The SecureConferenceCenter can be operated in a secured on-premises scenario on its own systems, providing additional protection against manipulation and espionage. At the same time, familiar video conferencing functions such as real-time screen sharing or sharing of video and audio content, as well as chat, are available.
