69 Boxers for DE and NL

The company ARTEC, a joint venture of KNDS Germany and Rheinmetall, has been commissioned by the procurement authority OCCAR to acquire a total of 69 additional wheeled armored fighting vehicles RCT 30 for the German and Dutch armed forces. This is the activation of the options from the contract signed in 2025 for 222 systems. The Bundeswehr, which ordered 150 BOXER RCT 30, will now receive 35 additional vehicles. The Dutch Army will have a total of over 106 wheeled armored fighting vehicles with the additional 34 systems.

For decades, we have been a proud partner of the Dutch Army. Whether it is the LEOPARD 2 or the BOXER system, to name just the recent acquisitions that Germany has implemented together with the Netherlands. This shows what European cooperation can achieve. By jointly procuring a system and the resulting higher quantity, not only faster deliveries are possible. It has an immediate, positive impact on training and logistics and guarantees the interoperability of the armed forces with each other. KNDS stands for this as a European company.

The BOXER RCT 30, developed by KNDS, will be the backbone of the new "Medium Forces". The combination of the proven BOXER, which is already in use by seven nations, and the 30 millimeter turret of the PUMA armored vehicle enables the engagement of moving targets, even while on the move. Additionally, the new wheeled armored fighting vehicle, referred to as "Schakal" by the Bundeswehr, is capable of drone and aerial defense. With the integrated anti-tank system MELLS, a versatile, lightweight guided missile system, the BOXER RCT 30 can also effectively combat main battle tanks. The dismount strength of six soldiers makes the "Schakal" the primary weapon system of the grenadiers of the "Medium Forces".
