The GSG9 of the Federal Police (short GSG 9 BPOL or simply GSG9) is the special unit of the Federal Police for combating serious/organized crime and terrorism. The GSG9 was founded on September 26, 1972, based on experiences during the hostage-taking in Munich as an anti-terrorism and hostage rescue unit. This year they celebrate their 50th anniversary. Happy birthday, GSG9!
