300,000 rounds for FlaK tank Gepard

The German Ministry of Defense, on behalf of Ukraine, has commissioned Rheinmetall to deliver 35mm ammunition for the anti-aircraft cannon tank Gepard. A total of 300,000 rounds are to be delivered. The ammunition is intended to support the Ukrainian armed forces using the Gepard.

Rheinmetall will deliver 150,000 rounds each of Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot - Tracer (APDS-T) and High Explosive Incendiary - Tracer (HEI-T) ammunition. This allows for the effective engagement of a variety of targets. The first APDS-T rounds will be delivered in the summer of 2023. A production switch from APDS-T to HEI-T is planned for mid-2024.

Rheinmetall is currently establishing an additional medium-caliber manufacturing facility at the Unterlüß site, which is expected to commence operations at the end of the first quarter of 2023. With this additional production line, Rheinmetall is responding to increased demand in the global market, as well as in the local Ukrainian market.
