30 Leopard 1 for Ukraine

Rheinmetall has been commissioned by the Ukrainian government to deliver Leopard 1 systems. The financing is provided by the German federal government.

Thus, Rheinmetall will deliver 25 combat tanks of the Leopard 1A5 type, five recovery tanks (BPz 2), and two driver training tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The order value is in the upper double-digit million euro range and includes training, logistics, spare parts, maintenance, and other support services.

The delivery is scheduled for the year 2024. The work required for the usability of the Leopard 1 systems will be carried out at the Rheinmetall locations in Unterlüß and Kassel.

Rheinmetall is thus continuing its support services for Ukraine in the area of combat vehicles. The company has been commissioned to deliver a total of 80 Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine. These are largely already in use and have already proven themselves in operation. Another 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles could be delivered once an order is received. Additionally, at the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024, five Caracal airborne vehicles will be delivered to Ukraine. Furthermore, Rheinmetall will deliver 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2024 on behalf of the Dutch and Danish governments. This is in addition to numerous other support services in areas such as ammunition, drones, and medical equipment.
