2016 is an IWA of records

03/07/2016By Redaktion

Once again, IWA OutdoorClassics was able to set new records: From March 4 to 7, 2016, the leading international trade fair for hunting and shooting sports, outdoor equipment, as well as equipment for civilian and official security recorded an increase to 1,455 exhibitors* on a total exhibition area* of almost 95,000 sqm in ten halls of the Nuremberg Exhibition Center, as well as over 45,000 trade visitors* from all over the world (2015: 1,379 exhibitors and 41,748 trade visitors).

The international share of trade fair participants was exceptionally high again this year: Eight out of ten exhibitors and almost two-thirds of the trade visitors came from abroad to IWA OutdoorClassics in Nuremberg. Leading among the 56 participating countries at IWA OutdoorClassics 2016 were Germany, the USA, and Italy. Among the trade visitors in the top 10 were: Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, France, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Whether from the USA, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, Namibia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, or Argentina, Brazil, and Peru: from around 120 countries around the globe, it drew the dealers to Nuremberg.

"It is gratifying for us as organizers not only the continuous growth of IWA OutdoorClassics overall in its fifth decade," said Thomas Preutenborbeck, Director Exhibitions at NürnbergMesse, "but also the evenly distributed growth across the three major exhibition segments of Target Sports, Nature Activities, and Protecting People."

Save the date for 2017!

The next IWA OutdoorClassics will take place from March 3 to 6, 2017, at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center. The IWA OutdoorClassics is organized by NürnbergMesse, the supporting organizations are the Association of German Gunsmiths and Arms Dealers (VDB) and the Association of Manufacturers of Hunting, Sporting Arms and Ammunition (JSM).

The event is exclusively reserved for trade visitors; children and young people under 18 years of age are not admitted. Admission tickets to IWA OutdoorClassics are only issued to visitors from relevant specialist retail companies, specialist authorities, and security companies upon presentation of appropriate credentials.

* The visitor, exhibitor, and area figures for this trade fair are determined and certified according to the uniform definitions of FKM, the Society for Voluntary Control of Trade Fair and Exhibition Statistics.
