Holger Veh from TEUTO DEFENCE:

„The BEHÖRDENTAGE are consistently progressing forward“

06/02/2025

Holger Veh is the managing director of TEUTO DEFENCE GERMANY GmbH and the organizer of the BEHÖRDENTAGE & Live Fire Days. These have now become a fixed part of the event calendar for specialist agency and military special operations personnel. The next edition will take place on June 25 and 26, 2025, at the usual venue. The 'Behördentage' will then focus on current technologies and developments for authorities and special units. This year, the emphasis is on effective solutions against UAV threats and is a direct response to the geopolitical situation and the increased demand for effective solutions.

SPARTANAT: In just under a month, the Behördentage & Live Fire Days 2025 will take place. How far along are the preparations?

Veh: Preparations are in full swing. This year, we are already fully booked on the exhibitor side – interest is steadily growing. We are also seeing again a high demand from professional visitors. Only professional visitors from specialized units of the police, Bundeswehr, customs, and other federal and state authorities and organizations are entitled to participate. Professional visitors can still register through the registration portal at www.behördentage.de. However, the number of participants is limited, especially for the conference program, so we recommend early registration.

SPARTANAT: For two years, the Behördentage have been expanded to include the Live Fire element. Is there a focus, adjustments, or new features this year?

Veh: Indeed – the Behördentage are celebrating their 14th anniversary this year and are continuously evolving. Under the expanded title Live Fire, Communication & Drone Days, we are focusing particularly on drones and drone defense in 2025, alongside proven themes such as small arms systems and communication technologies.

This focus is a direct response to the geopolitical situation and the increased need for effective solutions against UAV threats – both in urban areas and in international deployments. With practical demonstrations and technological innovations, we provide professional visitors with in-depth insights into current systems, strategies, and applications.

Thus, the Behördentage remain not only an established platform for dialogue and networking but also demonstrate how flexibly and forward-thinking they react to new challenges.

SPARTANAT: Are there changes among the exhibitors? Are there new first-time exhibitors?

Veh: Yes, we are pleased to present a high-caliber and diverse group of exhibitors again in 2025. Leading companies from the fields of weaponry, ammunition, radio, communication, special protection vehicles, and satellite technology will be represented again. Our exhibitor slots are traditionally in high demand – especially because they allow for targeted customer invitations and exchange in a professional, closed setting.

For the first time, the BDSV is participating as a cooperation partner and exhibitor. The participation of the industry association is a strong signal for the relevance of the Behördentage as a central platform for security-related technologies and innovations.

Moreover, we are excited about a number of other exciting first-time exhibitors:

  • Spartan Blades, USA: High-quality tactical knives known for robust materials and operational orientation
  • Fix It Sticks, USA: Modular tool system for maintenance and optimization of weapon platforms – especially appreciated in mobile use.
  • Leidel & Kracht, Germany: Precision mechanics and specialized solutions for military and security-critical applications
  • Marathon Targets GmbH: Provider of autonomous target systems for realistic shooting training with AI-controlled target robots
  • HTV Conservation GmbH: Specializing in long-term conservation and material protection, e.g., for electronic components in defense and security applications
  • Ernst Apel GmbH: Developer and manufacturer of high-quality mounting systems for optics and tactical accessories.
  • Labitzke GmbH: Specialist provider of specific housing solutions and transport cases with high protection class for authority needs.
  • Utsch und Gierse Tools GmbH: Tool systems and accessories for authority applications with a focus on quality and longevity.
  • Phonak Communication: Communication solutions for covert and loud operations, including in the areas of police, military, and special forces.

This year's exhibitor list clearly reflects the steadily growing relevance and attractiveness of the Behördentage – both for established providers and for innovative newcomers.

SPARTANAT: Besides the exhibitors, the visitors are also essential. From which authorities do they come? With what thematic focuses do they come to the event this year?

Veh: Besides the exhibitors, our visitors are primarily in the spotlight – and this is a highly specialized audience. Only

professional visitors from specialized units of the police, Bundeswehr, customs, and other federal and state authorities and organizations are entitled to participate. In 2025, we again expect participants from all over Europe – including many representatives from police special units, military operational forces, civil-military cooperation offices, and governmental procurement departments.

The thematic focuses of the visitors reflect the current security policy challenges: This year, the emphasis is on modern operational resources for tactical situations, effective drone defense systems, interoperable communication technologies, and solutions for the protection of critical infrastructure.

The added value for the participants lies clearly in the direct exchange with experts and decision-makers from all over Europe. They gain access to a high-caliber network of security- and defense-relevant actors, receive practical impulses and solution approaches from the industry, and have the opportunity for in-depth dialogues on future topics such as digitalization, urban operational capability, and technology integration.

With our Behördentage, we offer not only tangible products but also knowledge transfer and strategic orientation – precisely tailored to the requirements of governmental operations.

SPARTANAT: What live demonstrations or live testing opportunities are there this year?

Veh: This year, live demonstrations are again a central element of the government days – because only in realistic operational use can technologies be truly evaluated. In addition to the previously mentioned anti-drone solutions, such as the portable jamming system NEROD RF, there will be practical demonstrations where the effectiveness of modern UAV defense can be impressively experienced.

Another highlight will, of course, be the live demonstrations from FN Herstal and precision shooting with the FN Elity, a ballistic calculator with an OLED targeting display and integrated sensors. This precision module assists shooters in real-time calculations of ballistic trajectories and offers an impressive combination of technology and tactical relevance.

The infantry divisions from FN Herstal will also present dynamic live demonstrations with live fire as well as static presentations. These include, among others:

  • FN EVOLYS – an ultra-light machine weapon with belt feed that feels like a rifle in handling
  • FN HiPer – a 9mm pistol with outstanding ergonomics and high operational safety
  • the versatile FN SCAR series – including SCAR-L, SCAR-H, and SCAR-SC

Further live demonstrations:

  • AIM Workshop: HuntlR MK 2
  • Practical workshop with Busch PROtective: CTM-1 Kit for training scenarios with FX, Simunition, and UTM
  • Carl Walter Workshop – red dot shooting on modern handguns
  • Eratec Workshop: Surpressor STAC1
  • Thales Workshop: Night vision devices and new weapon attachment XTRAIM
  • MEN Workshop: on brand new ammunition topics

These demonstrations allow professional visitors to not only see the latest technologies but also experience and critically assess them in a concrete operational context – a unique feature of the government days that receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants.

SPARTANAT: In addition to the exhibited solutions and live demonstrations, there are also theoretical training sessions and presentations every year. What will be offered this year?

Veh: In addition to the specialized exhibition and the practice-oriented live demonstrations, we place great importance on theoretical knowledge transfer again this year. The government days offer a targeted lecture and workshop program led by experienced government representatives and recognized industry experts.

This year's focuses include, among others:

  • “Non-lethal means of operations in practice” – with a special focus on the FN 303, presented by FN Herstal. Here, operational tactical aspects around crowd management and de-escalation are at the forefront.
  • M2 Technologies: Drone detection and drone defense
  • Practical workshop with Busch PROtective: CTM-1 Kit for training scenarios with FX, Simunition, and UTM
  • AIM Workshop: HuntlR MK 2

These lectures provide not only in-depth expertise but also connect theory and operational reality at the highest level. Especially in times of dynamic threat situations, theoretical exchange is essential – to share experiences, deepen knowledge, and develop new approaches for practice. The government days provide the ideal environment for this.

SPARTANAT: What will be your personal highlight? What do you recommend to visitors for their stay?

Veh: For me personally, the highlight of the government days lies in the special atmosphere – in the combination of highly specialized exhibitions, realistic live demonstrations, and intensive exchanges among experts. It is this unique density of know-how, innovation, and dialogue that distinguishes the event.

What I recommend to every visitor: Take deliberate time for personal exchange. The opportunity to speak with decision-makers, specialists, and operational forces from home and abroad is a real added value – especially in such a protected and professional environment.

  • Participants benefit from: access to a top-notch network of security and defense-related actors
  • practice-oriented impulses directly from the industry
  • in-depth discussions on future topics like digitalization, protection of critical infrastructures, and operational technology

For almost 30 years, TEUTO DEFENCE GERMANY has stood for quality, experience, and partnership in the security and defense industry. As an agent, distributor, and representative of leading manufacturers, our goal is not only to provide equipment – but also to create platforms like this that sustainably promote innovation, networking, and knowledge transfer.

My personal tip: Take the opportunity to be inspired, to take new impulses with you, and to expand your network purposefully. The government days are the ideal place for that.
