MAPA is the new camouflage pattern from Poland – HERE we have reported on it in detail. The field uniform is completed by the matching blouse. Today we want to introduce this to you in detail.
Due to the camouflage, it is difficult to see details at first glance. The field blouse in MAPA certainly looks solid, except for the camouflage, it doesn't seem extraordinary. The cut somehow reminds us of the classic RAID BDUs, which were very popular with units in the early 2000s.
The back view is plain. The fabric is a 50/50 NyCo blend, so cotton and synthetic fibers. This results in a lightweight and airy fabric, but without significant stretch.
Thanks to the generous back pleat, the field blouse always fits well and nothing is tight.
The MAPA field blouse offers a comfortably high stand-up collar and is closed with a zipper.
To be more precise, with a two-way zipper. The zipper pulls are included from the factory.
The zipper is concealed with a fabric strip. At chest height, there is a zipped Napoleon pocket.
This pocket extends below the chest pocket and is a good 20 cm deep. So, the map fits easily in here.
The chest pockets are closed with Velcro and serve their purpose. They are kept very flat in case a plate carrier is worn over the field blouse.
On the upper arm, you will find a zippered pocket with the Velcro logo of Maskpol.
Two rubber loops for chemlights or pens are sewn on the left upper arm pockets.
Those were the details of the MAPA field blouse on the outside. The field blouse is relatively long and does not have hip pockets. Therefore, it can also be easily tucked into the pants.
Now for the internal features, if we can find the field blouse again. MAPA really knows how to camouflage well.
A sturdy loop for hanging the field blouse should never be missing, and it's not here either.
Inside, you will find a label with washing instructions and the material used.
But there's another label with Morse code printed on it. You never know when you might need it.
CONCLUSION: A solid field blouse that fulfills its purpose very well. Maskpol has done a great job here. Like all other products in MAPA, the field blouse is very comfortable and light, even on hot and humid summer days. And we really like the camouflage pattern – especially in European woodland, like at our home.
You can find the MAPA Field Blouse from Maskpol at retailers carrying Maskpol products starting at 80 euros.
In 2017, we saw MAPA live at MSPO in Poland. Read the report HERE.
