HENSOLDT: Well equipped

02/07/2024By Redaktion

The sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT has recorded an order intake of approximately 1.1 billion euros between October 2023 and January 2024.

All business areas have contributed to this, including major orders such as the German air defense system for short- and very-short-range protection (LVS NNbS) commissioned in January, further procurements of the TRML-4D air defense radar - shown in the image above - as well as for the radar of the Eurofighter and optic systems for armored vehicles. "As is usual in our business, we received a large number of orders before and around the turn of the year. It clearly shows that we are fully on track with our growth targets," says HENSOLDT CFO Christian Ladurner.

The LVS NNbS project plays a major role with an order value of nearly 300 million euros. This provides the Bundeswehr with a highly modern system for the protection of ground troops in operation, as well as for securing command posts and facilities against threats from the air. All business areas - radar, optronics, spectrum dominance, and services - from the HENSOLDT portfolio are involved. This includes the internationally successful air defense radar TRML-4D, for which HENSOLDT has received orders for more than 20 radars with a total order value of approximately 350 million euros in the full year.

The development of the Eurofighter radar also accounted for a substantial portion of the order intake in the fourth quarter, with an order value of nearly 100 million euros. Optics and self-protection systems for the Leopard and Puma armored vehicles were also in high demand, contributing over 60 million euros to the growth of the order backlog.

"Sensor solutions and electronic systems are essential for a capable defense," says HENSOLDT CFO Christian Ladurner. "Given the growing international tensions, we therefore expect an increasing demand for these products, which we will meet with a systematic expansion of our production capacities."
