Transfer of responsibility on the eastern flank

On December 7, 2023, the Commander of the 1st Armored Division, Major General Heico Hübner, hands over command of the Enhanced Vigilance Activities (eVA) Brigade from the Panzergrenadierbrigade 41 "Vorpommern" to the Panzerbrigade 21 "Lipperland" during a ceremonial parade in Rukla, Lithuania. In the presence of the Commander of the German Army, Lieutenant General Harald Gante, and the Commander of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, General Valdemaras Rupsys, the responsibility shifts to the Panzerbrigade 21 from Augustdorf after over a year, becoming the first brigade of the German Army to implement the new concept of Medium Forces.
