KATADYN: 6L and 10L water filters

KATADYN BeFree water filters have been indispensable companions for outdoor enthusiasts for years. The lightweight filter systems ensure a safe supply of drinking water from streams and lakes and can be taken anywhere thanks to their small, foldable design. With the introduction of the new BeFree Gravity 6.0 Liter and 10 Liter water filters, Katadyn expands the BeFree line with two group-friendly sizes. The new Large and XL sizes use the principle of gravity and combine highly efficient hollow fiber filter technology with the easy-to-clean EZ-Clean Membrane^TM typical for the BeFree line, making safe drinking water effortlessly and reliably available for groups at all times.

The heart of the slim and foldable BeFree Gravity 6.0L and 10L filter systems is the EZ-Clean Membrane™, the trademark of the BeFree filter line with a fast flow rate of up to 2 liters per minute. During the filtering process, water passes through a hollow fiber filter with a pore size of 0.1 micron (0.0001 mm), reliably removing microorganisms such as bacteria and cysts as well as sediments. The transparent window allows the current water level to be clearly visible at all times. If refilling is necessary, the filter system can be easily transported from camp to water source and back with the practical carrying strap and attached to a branch or other available fixture. The drinking water flows safely into the preferred vessel through the outlet hose equipped with a quick-release valve with automatic shut-off. To avoid contact with contaminated water during refilling, the outlet hose can be easily temporarily removed. Since capacity should not come at the expense of weight, the 6.0L filter weighs just over 260 grams and the 10L filter remains under 290 grams. The capacity of the new filters is up to 1000L, depending on water quality. Cleaning the EZ-Clean Membrane^TM is simple, just shake or swirl it in water in the field or at home.

Alongside the new filter systems, Katadyn is making a BeFree Gravity Upgrade Kit available, which allows a Katadyn Gravity Camp or Base Camp Pro filter to be converted into a BeFree Gravity filter system. This requires a separately available BeFree filter element and a 6L or 10L water filter system with accessories.
