At the AFCEA trade show in Bonn, one of the most important German industry events in the context of military communication technology, sensors, and cyber capabilities, ELBIT SYSTEMS Germany will present some of its most exciting new developments alongside its proven and already established systems.
The Ulm competence center for HF and VHF radio systems presents SmarTrack, a highly modern system for precise Blue Force tracking of dismounted units in environments where no GNSS is available or where it is disrupted by friendly or enemy forces. SmarTrack determines the position of up to 100 members of the own unit in real-time and provides soldiers with the position data as a clear picture. Furthermore, SmarTrack supports the navigation of the unit and also offers the possibility to share information via radios with a data link. A useful addition to this is shown by ELBIT SYSTEMS Germany at the AFCEA trade show in the form of the independent, disruption-resistant satellite navigation system iSNS, which can effectively ensure its own navigation.
Another system from ELBIT SYSTEMS Germany is the portable version of the well-known drone defense system ReDrone and is being presented for the first time in Germany. This device, barely larger than a soldier's radio, creates an electromagnetic dome with a diameter of up to 1,000 m around the wearer, within which the control signals of drones are effectively jammed. This allows even a larger infantry unit to be protected from remote threats in motion in a simple and effective manner and for many hours before the standard batteries of the handheld device need to be replaced.
