Hands off my TILO

To protect the TILO - HERE in our review - from unauthorized use, it is now available with a PIN code.
The idea behind the PIN code is that the TILO will be locked in case it is lost. When activating the PIN code, the user can individually set a four-digit code. He also determines how many times the device can be started before the code is required. This value can be between 0 and 255. This way, he does not have to enter the PIN every time he wants to use the TILO, but for example only after 255 starts. To avoid being surprised by a sudden request for the code, a warning message will appear beforehand indicating that the PIN will be requested soon. The length of this period can also be adjusted. This allows the user to recall the code before the actual request, for example, if he is currently on a mission or cannot remember the PIN.

However, what happens in case of a wrong input? If the user forgets the PIN or cancels the input, the TILO will still start. Only when the code is entered incorrectly five times, a message "PIN false, enter PUK" appears, indicating that the eight-digit PUK is required. This is preset for each model. In case of a wrong input of the PUK as well, the TILO remains off and is therefore no longer usable for unauthorized users. The rightful user can re-enter the PUK when restarting and activate the TILO, which is now reset to factory settings. In the case of an honest finder, the TILO™ can be sent to Andres Industries AG, where it will be reset to factory settings.
