This is what the good piece looks like from both sides. It is designed as a replacement for the regular parts in the AGILITE carriers from K9 to Sub Zero. The extended velcro piece is for the back of the plate carrier, the other is for the stomach. In between are pockets made of 4-Way Stretch.
This is what it looks like on the man. We like stretch because it is "breathable". Not as fabric, but when the man has to breathe heavily after running with equipment, the stretch allows for more movement than stiff solutions.
The Israelis have built in some very nice features. For example, we have a ROC closure on the front left, which allows for easy and practical egress, as the flap does not need to be opened.
The secret behind this is the velcro connection with the two horizontal small bars. This can be left as is, then the front is velcroed at the stomach. Or you can install ROC or FIRST SPEAR Tubes, then the carrier has a quick release.
The velcro on the stomach is of course the less practical way of closing.
In the back, the Cumverbund is also velcroed in, here with a Sub Zero Slick.
These are the compartments in the Cumberbund as seen from the body side. You can also carry three magazines or just a radio and two magazines. IFAK also fits. Outside the Cumberbund there are also two rows of MOLLE, so that the carrier could put the radio in a pocket that has been looped in. Storage space is good, but not always practical, pulling the magazine at the second position is still possible, with the third towards the back only a comrade can help. On your own, you're out of luck. It would be exciting to have a version where the magazines can be pulled downwards, then you would be independent again.
CONCLUSION: Super practical addition for people who want a flexible Cumberbund with more storage space. The AGILITE Modular Elastic Cumberbund is available directly from the manufacturer. Or from all dealers who carry AGILITE. AGILITE on the internetSPARTANAT is the online magazine for Military News, Tactical Life, Gear & Reviews.
