Books & more: The Sheriff of Babylon

12/03/2018By Redaktion

What are the stories behind the story? The occupation of Iraq by the Americans is history. The Graphic Novel "The Sheriff of Babylon" immerses itself in the scenario and shows the people who come together against the backdrop of a settlement: the US contractor who is supposed to train the police, his student who is murdered, the exiled Iraqi woman who fights for her new role, the Saddam criminal police officer who is called to all crime scenes and - tangled up himself - is supposed to solve crimes.

It all starts with a murder. The body is found in a conspicuous place in the middle of Baghdad.

Working in a foreign country: the contractor is doing a job. The Iraqis are doing their business. Life has many complicated sides...

...that quickly become confusing. An apartment full of bodies.

An attack on the Iraqi woman who has returned from the USA to be part of the new elite.

Tragic mistakes and a lot of tension. The book is the beginning of a series. Superbly drawn, excellent storyboard. SPARTANAT reading recommendation!
