Remington is excited because they are part of a US Army contract for Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) rifles, which they are now allowed to deliver to the US Army. However, from the past it is known that these rifles are less intended for the US Army, but more for their partners. For example, in 2015, around 56,000 rifles, also from Remington, went to the army of the Philippines.
It is not yet known how many pieces will be delivered, or even which rifle it is. A look at the Remington Defense website reveals that it could only be one of the following three. Especially for the ACR, this would be exciting, because it could finally go into action. R4 Carbine
ACR – Adaptive Combat Rifle
