SUBMERGED: German Navy at the "boot"

01/16/2024By Redaktion

The German Navy will be presenting itself from January 20th to January 28th, 2024 at the BOOT fair in Düsseldorf with a sail cutter of class 959, members of the Naval Special Forces Command (KSM) and a team of mine divers who will show their work in their diving tower. In daily demonstrations, interested individuals can observe the underwater work, visit the cutter, and interact with the soldiers of the German Navy. At the BOOT, visitors will get an insight into the maritime world of the German naval forces. The KSM recruitment team will also provide information on career and deployment opportunities in the special unit from Eckernförde.

Nationwide, the Navy attends a variety of fairs and events, even in the southernmost regions of Germany. Here, naval soldiers are considered exotic because only the Navy is naturally located along the Baltic and North Sea coasts of Germany with its variety of different ships and boats. In inland areas, the perception of the naval forces is often considerably lower due to the distance from the coast. An important concern of the Navy is to present itself in these regions to show the population in the inland areas that, as an essential part of the Bundeswehr, the Navy stands up for the interests of the citizens of Germany worldwide at sea.
