Marian Rachow has been the new CEO of the Ulm-based system house Elbit Systems Deutschland (ESDE) since 01.04.2025. The electrical engineering graduate began his career in a classic engineering career in major national projects such as Eurofighter and Tornado at Airbus Defense and Space before switching to product management in the field of electronic warfare and self-protection systems.
Rachow gained his first management experience as Chief of Staff to the CEO at Airbus Defense and Space, and later also in international and national management positions, including in the Middle East. A part-time degree in General Management at Harvard Business School and management tasks in the areas of cyber security, mass data analysis, AI and new technologies at Hensoldt and Rohde & Schwarz brought Marian Rachow into closer contact with M&A activities. For his new role at Elbit Systems Deutschland, he therefore has extensive knowledge of corporate management in order to master all the associated challenges.
“I have long been fascinated by Elbit Systems Deutschland as a full portfolio provider,” says Rachow, explaining his decision to lead the Ulm-based company. “Personally, I am particularly attracted by the opportunities that arise from the combination of ESDE's not yet fully exploited potential with Elbit's broad range of products and services, and I am very much looking forward to working with a dedicated team on forward-looking projects and actively shaping the next chapters in the company's long history.” Rachow is optimistic and ambitious for the future of the company: “First and foremost, I want to make ESDE an attractive employer where people can work on cutting-edge technologies with a great deal of freedom. As a logical consequence of this, I plan to position ESDE as a German company among the local market leaders by combining our unique expertise in the field of communication and reconnaissance technologies with the innovative product portfolio of Elbit Systems,” says the new CEO.
