Russian state media highlighted the joint efforts of Russia and China in the fight against the alleged "double containment" of Russia and China by the West during the meeting of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on April 9 in Beijing. As reported by the Kremlin news agency TASS, Wang proposed that China and Russia should take a "double countermeasure" in response to the alleged Western attempts of "double containment" of Russia and China.
