UKRAINE: THE SITUATION 585 - SEPTEMBER 29, 2023

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continued their counterattacks in the western Zaporizhzhya Oblast and the Bachmut area on September 29.

According to Russian sources, Ukrainian forces attacked north of Robotyne (10 km south of Orichiw) and near Verbove (18 km southeast of Orichiw) and Novoprokopivka (13 km south of Orichiw) on September 28 and 29. Russian military bloggers claimed on September 29 that Ukrainian forces had unsuccessfully attempted to advance east of the railway line south of Bachmut near Klischtschiwka (7 km southwest of Bachmut) and Kurdumiwka (13 km southwest of Bachmut), and reported heavy fighting along the Klischtschiwka-Andriiwka-Kurdumiwka line.
