UF PRO® presents: "Pro's Guide to Combat Medic Essential Skills"

UF PRO® not only produces great gear, but also recently launched a video series for aspiring medics. It is available online for free and teaches the basics of treating accidents and explains how unnecessary deaths in the field can be prevented.

The video series titled “The Pro's Guide to Combat Medic Essential Skills” consists of multiple parts presented by a Special Forces Combat Medic currently serving and caring for his unit. From routine exercises to missions in hot zones, he has experienced it all in the past year.

“The Pro's Guide to Combat Medic Essential Skills” has just been released - you can watch it in the featured window above or directly at UF PRO - and it includes basic, proven techniques for providing quick, efficient, and effective on-site assistance to the injured when no doctor is available.

UF PRO® has included a short quiz at the end of each video. Those participants who pass all three tests will receive a limited UF PRO® Combat Medic Patch for free, which can be worn on the uniform.

The first part of the series covers how to provide initial care to an injured person and keep them alive, and then goes into more depth. The second video describes the M.A.R.C.H. Algorithm. M.A.R.C.H. stands for massive bleeding, airway obstruction, respiration problems, circulatory problems, and hypothermia. As the video shows, each of these conditions is listed in descending order of severity of injury, providing a practical way to remember which individuals need attention first when dealing with multiple victims at once.

The third and final part deals with the actual measures medics must take in accidents. In detail, techniques are shown for stopping bleeding, splinting a broken bone, cleaning a wound, and relieving pain.
