Kraków-based drone innovator DEFENDEYE has announced a major upgrade to its tube-launched, fully autonomous search drone by integrating built-in Starlink Mini satellite connectivity. This enhancement empowers the drone and its cloud-based command center to operate globally without reliance on local cellular networks. Users can now stream live high-definition video from remote or urban environments directly to operations centers and mobile devices, regardless of location.
The portable launch-tube, requiring less than 10 seconds for drone deployment, features both Starlink Mini and an optional 4G/5G modem, ensuring adaptability for emergency responders in varying conditions—including remote, urban, and offshore missions. The operator-free system allows responders to “launch and forget,” with the drone auto-deploying and navigating without the need for piloting expertise.
Equipped with a neural processor, the drone’s onboard AI detects, identifies, tracks, and follows humans day or night, in all weather, streaming fully encrypted HD video to the cloud in real time for immediate viewing and alerts. Designed and manufactured in Poland, DEFENDEYE drones leverage proprietary technology to support missions in fields such as search and rescue, firefighting, perimeter security, disaster response, and more.
Demo kits and integrated systems are expected to ship beginning September 2025. At a price of US $599 per drone and with no training required, DEFENDEYE’s system offers a cost-effective fleet solution for agencies seeking advanced, automated UAV capabilities.
