Terrapin X - the laser rangefinder for civilian snipers

06/16/2018By Redaktion

Long-range shooting is gaining more and more followers worldwide. Many precision shooters are attracted to excel in this discipline. From Swiss company Safran Vectronix AG comes an important tool for this: a successor product developed specifically for the civilian market to the successful compact rangefinder Terrapin, the Terrapin X.

In the popular field of Longrange Shooting, precise technology and measurements play a crucial role alongside a lot of experience and intuition. Safran Vectronix can draw on decades of experience in this area. Accordingly, the new Terrapin X provides accurate output values and outstanding optical-mechanical product characteristics of the utmost precision even over extreme measurement distances. Thanks to Bluetooth 4.1 technology, the device can easily be adjusted via mobile app. The app is freely available for both Android and iOS devices and is easy to use.

What's more: The Terrapin X can connect to Kestrel weather trackers via a special software protocol, providing ballistic correction values from industry leader Applied Ballistics. This allows even side correction values to be determined. Ambitious mountaineers and long-range shooting experts in particular will appreciate this shot correction information. Equipped with an eye-safe Class 1 laser, the Terrapin X provides accurate measurements up to 3,000 meters, or 3,280 yards and more. This positions the Terrapin X at the top of the list and takes the lead in civilian laser rangefinding.

What's likely to also excite sports and precision shooters: all measurement data is not only displayed clearly on the LED display, but can also be read in real time on a smartphone. Furthermore, for the first time, distances between two objects and, for example, tree heights can be displayed in the app. With a 28mm objective lens, the Terrapin X collects around 25 percent more light compared to most other laser rangefinders, and therefore achieves an extremely high contrast performance even under adverse lighting conditions. Despite these outstanding values, the device has compact dimensions and fits ergonomically perfectly in the hand.
