Constellations - guidance at night

11/24/2012By Redaktion

The days are noticeably getting shorter, while the night hours are increasing. This gives us the opportunity to see stars and constellations more often now. Everyone knows the North Star - at least from hearsay. Polaris has the nice quality of always staying in the same place in the sky throughout the year. Additionally, Polaris is located exactly in the north, making it an ideal point of orientation.

The only thing you need to do is find the North Star, which is not always easy in practice. However, there are aids that make this easier for us in the field. Namely, constellations. In the course of the series on orientation with the help of constellations, we want to take a closer look at the following important constellations:

  • Big Dipper
  • Cassiopeia
  • Auriga
  • Orion

In the upcoming weeks, we will introduce these to you one by one. So stay tuned and stay always prepared!
Best wishes,
Reini from survival24.org
