The Federal Office for Equipment Information Technology and Use of the Bundeswehr, abbreviated BAAINBw, is organizing two career days on August 16th and 17th, 2019 in Koblenz to provide an in-depth insight into the defense sector of the Bundeswehr as an employer to all interested parties. Visitors can get a glimpse of Bundeswehr as an employer, learn about the tasks at BAAINBw, ask questions, and submit a job application on the spot.

The BAAINBw is responsible for procurement, management and fundamental issues related to defense, utility management, information technology, and supply for the Bundeswehr.

To conduct unmanned reconnaissance in close proximity, the BAAINBw has procured Nano-drones, the Black Hornet, for the special forces of the Bundeswehr. These drones are characterized not only by high performance, robustness, and agility, but also by modern imaging capabilities and practical compactness. The drone weighs only 18 grams and is capable of landing in the hand of an adult. The special forces can discreetly, quietly, and precisely gather intelligence on threats in close proximity using these drones, gaining a clear situational awareness.
