As Soldier Systems reports, the US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) has issued a warning to users of L3 EOTech Optics. The issues addressed are particularly related to external temperature. The point of impact displayed can change by over 10cm per 100m between arctic and desert temperatures. This change is permanent! (The optic can of course be re-zeroed.) Temperature can also affect the previously stated parallax free feature (the latest version of the user manual no longer mentions a parallax free optic) of the Holosight. By viewing from the side, the displayed point of impact can shift by approximately 10-15cm per 100m.
Therefore, we can only recommend that if you are a user of an EOTech, you regularly check if the displayed point of impact has shifted, using the hopefully present emergency sights. The issues seem to only occur at extreme temperatures, but it's better to be safe than sorry. HERE is the full article on SOLDIER SYSTEMS.
