All good things come from above. This is probably what the Australians at DefendTex thought when they developed the Drone-40. This drone is fired from a 40mm grenade launcher and then unfolds its four rotors to hover in the air.
It can fly for 12 minutes and/or hover for 20 minutes. The flying speed is 20 m/s, which is about 72 km/h, and the range at optimal speed is over 10 km.
Payloads such as cameras, hollow charges, Fuel-Air, HE/Splinter, smoke and dazzle devices, and anti-drone agents can be used.
With these mixed payload types, the Drone-40 can be used individually, in pairs or as a swarm for a variety of applications. A silent ambush by a swarm of mini drones is not far away.
