Simulation technology for the MENA region

11/17/2016By Redaktion

Even in the Middle East and North Africa, sharpshooting is not always the case: Rheinmetall's Simulation and Training business unit has once again won a contract in the MENA region. A customer from the region has commissioned the company to modernize and expand an existing live training system there. The contract volume is just under 10 million euros. Rheinmetall will contribute both state-of-the-art hardware and software components to expand and bring the so-called "Mobile Combat Training Center" up to the latest technological standards.

The contract also includes the delivery of new laser duel simulators to incorporate different combat vehicles and latest weapon systems in the tactical training process. With the expanded capability, it will be possible to train not only infantry forces but also mechanized forces up to the level of a reinforced company in the mobile combat training center. mobile-ctc-simulation-2 The "Mobile Combat Training Center" utilizes Rheinmetall's innovative and versatile Legatus live simulation technology. The German Bundeswehr also relies on Rheinmetall systems. Recently, it commissioned Rheinmetall to expand the Combat Training Center Army (GÜZ) headquarters to include the capabilities of leading and evaluating "Operations in the urban agglomeration Schnöggersburg" on the training ground in Altmark, Saxony-Anhalt.

Similarly, the Bundeswehr has ordered 2,000 new Legatus laser transmitters for firearms and 1,500 corresponding "Soldier target equipment" with the appropriate laser sensor technology from Rheinmetall.

Legatus highlights Rheinmetall's approach to developing future-proof live simulation technology: tough, independent, smart. Tough - because the technology has proven itself under the toughest environmental conditions. Independent - because wireless and mobile training solutions provide independence from fixed infrastructure. Smart - because intelligent solutions using state-of-the-art technology are used for effective and realistic training.
