SIG Sauer presents successor to the US Army M4 and M249

The US Army is looking for a successor to M4A1 and M249. There are now only three contenders, one of them being SIG SAUER. Accordingly, SIG SAUER has now provided photos for the first time showing the new weapons. The special feature is also the new caliber of 6.8mm. Testing will now take place for the next 27 months and a decision will be made in early 2022 on which company will be awarded the contract. In addition to SIG SAUER, General Dynamic and AAI/Textron Systems are also in the running.
